Teenagers are more susceptible to depression these days compared to adults, they face lots of pressures in their daily life, their teen years can be very hard on their mental health. Most teenagers are unaware of the symptoms of teenage depression  until its too late. Teenage Depression can destroy the very essence of a teenager’s personality, causing symptoms of irritability, aggression, and rage. Unlike adults, who can seek assistance on their own, teenagers must rely on parents, teachers or friends to recognize their suffering and get them the treatment they need. It’s vital to know the symptoms of teenage depression so that you can distinguish depression from the teenager behavior. Teenage depression symptoms include:

Irritability, Angry Mood and Hostility 
A depressed teenager is often irritable, hostile, easily frustrated or abusive.

Social Isolation, Withdrawal from friends and family
 
Teens with depression may avoid family gatherings and events, they might start hanging out with a different crowd. Teens may not share their feelings with others, believing that they are alone in the world and no one is listening to them or even cares about them.

Low self esteem, Sadness, Guilt, Sensitive to criticism 
They may feel worthless and assume blame for negative events and question their competence and self-worth.

Sadness, Tearfulness, Frequent crying
 Teenagers may show their pervasive sadness by wearing dark clothes, or having a preoccupation with music that has nihilistic themes. They may start crying for no apparent reason.

Frequent headaches, Unexplained physical pains and aches
Teens may complain about physical illnesses such as headaches, stomachaches, being nauseous, back pain, or menstrual problems without a medical cause.

Frequent thoughts or expressions of death and suicide
If a teenager says, "I want to kill myself," or "I'm going to commit suicide," always take the statement seriously and seek evaluation from mental health professional immediately.
