Clinical depression is serious medical illness that affects people’s life directly. Clinical depression is somewhat similar to normal depression, the symptoms of clinical depression maybe be similar but the degree of it is much more severe and the condition persistent. If an individual is diagnosed with symptoms of clinical depression, he/she should seek professional medical treatment immediately.

The severe symptoms of clinical depression include:
  • Thoughts of suicide or death
  • physical pain or discomfort in muscles and joints
  • Feelings of guilt, helplessness, hopelessness, anxiety, and/or fear
A person suffering from the symptoms of clinical depression above should medical attention immediately.

Other less severe symptoms of clinical depression are:
  • Depressed or sad mood
  • Reduced memory
  • Feelings of overwhelming sadness or fear, or the seeming inability to feel emotion.
  • Diminished interest in normal activities and pleasures
  • Changing appetite and marked weight gain or weight loss
  • Insomnia
  • Changes in activity levels, such as restlessness or a slowing of movement
  • Loss of energy and excessive fatigue
  • Feelings of guilt, helplessness, hopelessness, anxiety, and/or fear
  • A decrease in self-esteem
  • Difficulty making decisions and concentrating
  • Self-harm or ruminating on self-harm
