Postpartum depression is a condition that occurs usually in women after childbirth. This condition is also called Postpartum blues which affect women during the first days after childbirth. "Postpartum blues" is a relatively mild type of depression , it usually peak around the fourth postpartum day and generally resolves itself in less than 2 weeks.

Symptoms of postpartum depression can occur anytime from 24 hours after childbirth to the first year after childbirth. The Symptoms of postpartum depression is rather similar to postpartum blues, they can feel the same or worse than before.

There are many possible symptoms of postpartum depression, if you have postpartum depression, you would have at least 5 of the symptoms below:
  • Lack of interest in sex
  • Frequent crying spells, feeling sad all the time
  • Frequent panic attacks, anxiety attacks
  • Insomnia or oversleeping
  • Tiredness, loss of energy. exhaustion
  • Fear of harming your baby
  • No interest in your baby
  • Thoughts of death and suicide
  • Irritability
  • Lack of concentration and remembering
  • Frequent headaches, chest pains, dizziness
  • Delusions
  • Feeling confuse all the time
If you detect these symptoms of postpartum depression, you should seek early treatment. It is important for both you and your baby.
